Black Pepper Project (BPP) is an advocacy and embodied awareness program designed to support survivors of human trafficking as they rebuild independence, stability, and self-determination.
The name Black Pepper Project draws from the historical use of black pepper as a valuable traded commodity. BPP uses this symbolism to acknowledge the commodification that many survivors have experienced while affirming a different truth: every person has inherent value that cannot be bought, sold, or owned.
BPP provides a structured, educational, and restorative pathway that helps participants develop practical life skills, strengthen self-awareness, and access community resources that support long-term success.
Our program brings together a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including educators, yoga instructors, counselors, attorneys, financial literacy specialists, health and wellness practitioners, and community advocates. Through this collaborative approach, participants receive guidance, information, and skill-building opportunities that address the physical, emotional, legal, financial, and social challenges often faced during recovery and reintegration.
BPP is designed as a progressive program that allows participants to build knowledge and confidence over time. Upon successful completion, graduates leave with practical tools, community connections, and a foundation for continued growth. Graduates may also receive financial support through program-funded grants intended to assist with their transition toward greater independence and stability.
At its core, Black Pepper Project exists to help survivors reconnect with themselves, access meaningful resources, develop sustainable life skills, and move forward with greater agency, awareness, and opportunity.
Join us in our mission to support survivors of human trafficking through empowerment and healing.
